The Thursday Garden Club – Come Join Us!

If you enjoy gardening, landscaping, flower arranging, touring local gardens, beautifying Sudbury, and the company of a very active group of women, come join us! We meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month, September through May, at the Goodnow Library. We hold programs related to our gardening interests. Trips and tours have become a popular activity.

Beautifying the town in which we live is a high priority for our members. To meet this objective, our civic projects include:

  • Planting and maintaining the children’s garden at the Goodnow Library.
  • Beautifying the town with our Daffodil Trail.
  • Designing and maintaining traffic islands throughout Sudbury.
  • Decorating town center, Goodnow Library, and Hosmer House for the holidays.
  • Holding garden workshops for children at the Library.
  • Providing arrangements for the children’s librarian's desk in the Goodnow Library.
  • Remembering our veterans with plantings at war memorials in Sudbury.

Proceeds from our fundraisers are used to fund civic projects and to provide a scholarship, internship or special school project related to horticulture or conservation for a Lincoln-Sudbury High School senior.

As an active organization, we are continually planning and organizing events around our members’ talents and interests and our desire to enhance the environment in which we live. Success is guaranteed with the enthusiastic participation of every member. Participation includes:

  • Attend meetings at least five meetings per year.
  • Providing a teacup and saucer to be used during our Silver Teas.
  • Serving on the tea committee once a year.
  • Participation in our yearly fundraisers.
  • Providing an arrangement for the Children’s Library once a year.
  • Participation in at least one committee activity each year.

If you are interested in learning more about the club or becoming a member, please fill out a membership information form, or send email to: info@thethursdaygardenclub.com.
